Alright people another progression shot for my latest digital painting.
1) Sketch it in photoshop,Sketchbook express,Painter or scan it into your favorite raster program (that means it works with pixels~!)
2)Ink the mofo (also can be done in any raster program but I prefer Illustrator or flash which are vector programs) I did this in Adobe Illustrator.
3) Mapp out the colors of the area with pen tool or the blob brush tool after that I add some shading to the are to mark shadows.
4) save this bad boy at 300 dpi and put into my favorite raster program (this case being photoshop) to blend the colors and make it look nice(LOOK AT DEM CLOUDS)
5)Post on the internet and hope it doesn’t get over look by all the other great artworks!

And this is the wacky and zany character of C.s. Wallace’s “Dragons of Rangarok” A pathfinder game he is running locally that I happen to participate in (good fun for all!)
The story goes is the setting is a typical fantasy world only devoid of dragons but a prophecy states that if they make their Appearance that it is the for coming of the end of the world!
The Gm and I thinking about coming together for perhaps a Web comic deal anyone out on Deviantart land interesting in the what they have seen of the characters to warrant a story?
Hey Tumblr’s Dashfox1 here wanting to talk about his artwork, lol.
So we got Jack hallow from “Dragons of ragnarok” A man who has been trying to do good for others but appears to slowly turning into demon as some tragic curse. Well this is for artists or just peoples who are interested about artistic process this is how things go for me.
First I discuss the character with my creative team until something sticks in the back of my mind. If the idea comes up again I humor it as with this picture Jack’s story reminds me of something I’d see in Hellboy so I started thinking about Mike Mignola work and being a big fan of his stuff I felt inspired.
So I started doing the sketching, at the very start I just kinda let my hand do all the work while I zone out or focus on a certain type or style of artwork. As with Hellboy I tried put some symbolism into this picture relating to the character. The angel with the wheel is a reference to the mythical Fortuna to which plays a big part into his story not to mention the character kinda mental tick to flip a coin (think less demented two-face).
So after cleaning up the sketch its time to ink and normally I put most of my details and fixes to the sketch (its a bad habit I need to deal with while in the sketch stage).
The coloring stage having inked this bad boy in illustrator I started laying down the colors. Having done so In illustrator my colors where easier to manage in Photoshop when It came time to blend and mix the colors.
Having exported to Photoshop for blending which means I mixed the color with various brushes and opacities I tried a lot of new things with this picture which I think I will be using again for the “Dragons” series. like coloring over the lines and doing blending on it own layer completely. After blending I did some edits here and there (most notably his nose).

So I’m in this campaign (with no set permanent systems we like to jump around for situation) we at chaotic ink like it alot and you’ve seen some artwork for it around as we are toying with the idea of comic-izing the story. anyways after the last session the players kept on talking about “shippings” so I did a sketch of the most prominent ships in the story thus far. Also on the right is a character reaction to loosing a friend to one of the big bad types in the story but I can’t go into all the details if we are going to go into comic territory.
Matured for Natasha being frisky (keep it in your shirt women!)
